Dr.Holmes' hobbies include photography (especially of ballet and other performance art), and fishing. "As a high school student I had an aptitude for math and sciences. I also have a lifelong fascination with animals- I went to carnivals and local fairs to go to the petting zoos while everyone else my age was riding rides and playing games. Then, I read "All Creatures Great and Small" by James Herriott - and my future was set. When people ask me what I do I don't say: "I'm a veterinarian," I say: "I am an Animal Doctor." I am an Animal Doctor because it is what I was born to be, and I feel very fortunate to live that dream every day. . "Ballet makes me weep, pets make me smile" .

My day is filled with new pets and people as well as old friends (furry and human). Getting to know my patients and their people and making them all feel at ease during their visits is really important to me. Caring for patients from puppy or kitten days through their golden years is a journey I treasure. It is an honor and privilege to share my time, knowledge and skills with my clients and their beloved pets. I can't imagine myself in any other career!".
